Transfer from GoDaddy

Moving from GoDaddy takes a few minutes per domain — or a single CSV for your whole portfolio. Your DNS comes with you.

Your DNS keeps working

Transferring a domain doesn't touch your nameservers or records. Your website and email stay up the whole time — and afterward you're free to use any nameservers, including ours.

How to transfer

  1. 1

    Unlock the domain at GoDaddy

Turn off the registrar/transfer lock, and disable WHOIS privacy if it blocks the confirmation email.

  2. 2

    Get the authorization code

Copy the auth code (sometimes called the EPP or transfer code) from your GoDaddy account.

  3. 3

    Start the transfer at OrbitFour

Paste the code to transfer one domain — or upload a CSV to move your whole portfolio at once.

  4. 4

    Approve and relax

Approve the confirmation email if prompted. Your DNS and nameservers stay in place the entire time, so nothing goes down.

You'll sign in or create a free account to start.

Transfer questions

Will my website or email go down during the transfer?

No. A domain transfer changes who manages the registration, not your DNS — we keep your existing nameservers and records, so your site and email keep working.

How long does a transfer from GoDaddy take?

Usually up to five days, set by the registry, though it's often faster. We email you at each step and as soon as it completes.

Can I transfer a lot of domains at once?

Yes. Upload a CSV of domains and auth codes and transfer your whole portfolio in one go — built for moving in bulk during a registrar change.

Do I lose the time left on my current registration?

No. A transfer adds a year and your remaining time is preserved, per ICANN rules — you don't pay twice for the same period.
