Unlock the domain at Network Solutions
Turn off the registrar/transfer lock, and disable WHOIS privacy if it blocks the confirmation email.

Get the authorization code
Copy the auth code (sometimes called the EPP or transfer code) from your Network Solutions account.

Will my website or email go down during the transfer?
No. A domain transfer changes who manages the registration, not your DNS — we keep your existing nameservers and records, so your site and email keep working.
How long does a transfer from Network Solutions take?
Usually up to five days, set by the registry, though it's often faster. We email you at each step and as soon as it completes.
Can I transfer a lot of domains at once?

Do I lose the time left on my current registration?
No. A transfer adds a year and your remaining time is preserved, per ICANN rules — you don't pay twice for the same period.
Why won't my transfer start?
The most common reason is ICANN's 60-day lock: a domain can't transfer between registrars within 60 days of its registration or a previous transfer. If yours is inside that window, the transfer can begin the day the lock lifts. Otherwise, check that the domain is unlocked at Network Solutions and that the auth code is current — codes are sometimes regenerated when settings change.
What does a transfer cost?
Each extension's transfer price is listed on our pricing page, and it includes the year the transfer adds — there's no separate transfer fee on top. You'll see the exact total before you confirm anything.
