We refund you automatically when we can't complete something you paid for. Card payments go back to your card, and orders paid from your prepaid balance go back to your balance.
Registrations and renewals
- A registration fails. If the registry can't register a domain you paid for, we refund that domain.
- A renewal fails. If a renewal you paid for on the renew page fails at the registry, we refund the full amount.
- The registry raises a premium price. If it rises after you pay but before we register or renew, we refund you instead.
- Auto-renewals. We charge only after the registry confirms the renewal. A failed auto-renewal costs you nothing.
If an automatic refund can't go through, we'll ask you to contact support with a reference number.
Payment problems
If the amount we collected doesn't match your order total, we refund the payment in full and don't process the order. If you remove a domain from your cart after paying, that domain is refunded.
Transfers
Some transfer failures can't be fixed by trying again. Examples are a domain that's already managed in another account, or a problem on our side. We refund those straight away.
Others, like an incorrect auth code, can be retried:
- We hold your payment for 14 days from the first failure.
- Retry with a new auth code, or click Cancel and refund.
- We email reminders 7 days and 1 day before the deadline.
- If you don't retry in time, we refund you automatically.
See My transfer failed: retrying.
Prepaid balance
To get unused balance back, contact support. We refund it to your original payment method where we can. See Prepaid balance and auto top-up.
Restores
Restore fees can't be refunded once a restore is done. See our Redemption Fee Schedule.
When you'll see the money
We email you when we issue a refund. A card refund usually appears within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. A refund to your balance appears right away.
